Huge key is the QB.  Must have a smart guy who makes great reads and gets them into the best play.  No. 2 would be great if QB can make plays with his feet as well as his arm.

I wonder if we have this guy on campus right now.

That was honestly incredible to listen to. So easier and quick for the QB to make a decision. No wonder they go so fast!

I think he will be mentally ready to run the offense sooner then Cole. If only we could put Ty's brain in coles body lol.

Yep. CCM is going to have the unfortunate choice of the guy thatís better physically and the guy that has the brains to run the offense. And that isnít to say Cole is dumb or anything, just that Ty can run the offense at a higher level.

I'd like to see a bigger sample size of what daulton can do, besides the 1 drive in the spring game.

I remember when we used to make fun of Malzahn's offense because it was so simple compared to ours.

Good stuff.  That's actually probably one of the more simpler RPO's they'll run this year, too.  They'll be reading every level of the defense on some plays from the ends all the way to the safeties.  It'll be fun to watch.

Yes, the offense will be fun to watch!!  Also, I think the offensive style & strategies will really help the defense.  Plus I really believe CCM is REALLY going to give the total defense to Chavis; and I really think thatís not been the case at LSU or A&M.  Heís been too good of a Defensive Coordinator over his career to not have been more successfull and his defenses to have been so suspect his last few years.  I believe he has something to prove & weíre about to reap the benefits.  CCMís offense and an aggressive D!!  I canít wait!!

Maybe CM explanations help people understand how important for the Running Back to be able to block. Also how they keep saying the WR has to win the one on ones.

I'm just picturing our previous coach watching that with the same blank stare we often saw during second half of games.

This will be a fun offense to watch in the future. I don't know that we currently have the athletes to make this as successful as it will be.

No offense is simple if it confuses the defense and isnít that the objective.

Well except for Bretís!

Usually depends on the play.  A lot of times the OLB will be your first read, pre-snap, then you check to see how the corners are playing you then safeties. The DE read will usually be your first post snap read.

This is the offense that he had no idea how to stop vs TCU. They gashed us for 4-5 yards a play all game long. Very boring game, but they systematically whooped us.

Think that's a little more complicated than what Malzahn is doing.

I did like when he said that a six man box isn't what you want to run against.  I can think of a couple of coaches we've had that didn't really get that...

I can see another previous coach of ours working through all of that, and then running the smoke draw every time...

I am someone that loves to watch football. Listening to Coach Morris on the offense tells me he knows what he wants. Quick thinking, answer for defensive set and what he wants from his players to be diverse depending on the defense. I liked it. Chavis has said that being in the middle of this offense will help his schemes.

I think it is more like the Malzahn offense than it is different from that. The running game is still the basis but it requires a QB that has quick and accurate decision making ability, who can throw the ball accurately, to make the entire offense perform as designed. Having a very mobile QB who presents yet another threat (that must be accounted for on every play by the defense), makes the offense even more dangerous. At least, this is what I have understood about the Morris philosophy.

The bigger question for me is, how much better will the defense perform? That to me has more to do with how much better we will be next season. The offense will come around and evolve the more time that we run it. It is the defense (IMO) that needs to make the bigger gains more quickly. That could be the game changer.

If Malzahn had taken the job and broke down a play everyone would be falling all over themselves about how fun the offense was going to be to watch.

Coach Morris I would bet would be a dangerous Chess Player.   He got a counter for everything the D shows him.
