Yea, I thought it was weird at first, but honestly it's a brilliant idea.  If it's a close game, it makes it very exciting down the stretch and makes each team play each possession super hard and avoid fouling because they know they can't afford to give up any points.   If it's a blowout it goes ahead and gets the game over with instead of people playing the fouling game and making 4 minutes turn into 20 minutes.

I missed the 1st quarter.  What was up with only having 7 players?  I heard them say missing Jacorey Williams hurt.  Why wasn't he here and what about the other possible back ups like Marshawn Powell?

It was a lot of fun cheering for these guys.

Jaylen Barford is playing with Jackson TN Team up next. Team won a game as a 16 seed last year without him, but he is far and away their most talented player. Will be interesting to see how he plays!

I heard Clarke was hurt.  Someone said on twitter JaCorey isn't eligible because he signed an NBA contract, not sure how legit that info is.  Powell just pulled out.  So that's why we only have 7 players rn.  The team we play tomorrow only has 8 so should be ok for that game.  And we're eligible to add players to the roster if we win tomorrow, so hopefully they can pull it out tomorrow then pick up a couple more guys, because I think it would be nearly impossible to win it all with only 7 guys, some of these teams are really good with quality depth.

Barford is having a bigtime performance right now on Watch Espn. He has 17 points heading to the 4th, and had an amazing 360 layup in traffic earlier. If his team wins, they will be playing Jimmer Fredette's team on ESPN tomorrow.

Barford not playing with Arkansas was a huge blow.  He'd arguably be the best player on the team.

Anyone know what time we play tomorrow?

I can’t wait to possibly see Rotnei and Dusty together, talk about raining threes.

We do need to add to the roster.

Play at noon CT today against the 15-seed. They got a pair of nice shooters but not much size. Hopefully we can contain the shooters. A win today puts us on ESPN next Saturday afternoon & we’ll be able to add players beginning tonight - Sunday. Each new guy cost $2k.

Do you submit a roster of names before the tourney? Or are you just allowed to add any player for 2k at the beginning of a new round?

We need some size. I went back and looked at some of our past players as I was drawing blanks trying to think of who we could add.

I wonder what Michael Washington, Delvon Johnson and Coty Clarke are doing.

Anyone know if Rotnei is playing today? Can’t wait to see him and Dusty on the court together. And Anthony Bell. Would love to see this backcourt. We could be the Warriors of this tourney lol

I bet what happened is, Barford thought he was at least going to get a training camp invite after summer league and figured he wouldn't be available, when that didn't happen his hometown team reached out to him and told him they still had a spot if he wanted to play with them, and he just went for it.  I don't think it was a slight at the hogs at all, he's shown over and over how much he loves the Hogs and representing Arkansas.

Did you reach out to him right after Summer League ended?  I know hindsight is 20/20, but just reaching out to him after that are letting him know the roster situation, it probably would have been a lot more attractive situation for him.  We got better talent plus less people to split the money with.

Also, please keep this team going for years to come, loved watching all the old Hog players play together.  The TBT tournament is actually pretty entertaining, guys are playing hard every game.  I think it's going to continue to grow and get bigger and bigger.  Hopefully they up that prize pool in the future to get a lot of these top guys in the Euro leagues more attracted to it.

Regardless, he probably would be the best player on the team.  He would have given the team a real shot.  Plus maybe another frontcourt body.  I am still enjoying watching these guys though!

Why did Barford choose not to play for the Arkansas team?

There is probably 2 things in play here. First, he thought he'd have a big summer league and be in play for a 2 way NBA contract and that did not happen. Second, he is playing for his hometown team, where he has more of a starring role. I'm sure he wanted to show things to NBA teams, while playing with some guys he knows from his hometown.

Keith literally contacted pretty much every big man you can think of in the last 10 years for Arkansas that is still playing basketball, and wasn't having much luck. If you have Jacorey, Marshawn, or Charles Thomas who also was almost on team. That should have been plenty to help us through these first 2 rounds.

When Kingsley, Harris, and Madden are an integral part of your team in an AAU type game you probably are going to have a small chance of success.

Yeah Kingsley didn't look great and was in constant foul trouble. Harris and Madden were their typical self.

Mediocre game for him, 12 pts on 10 fga, and 1/5 from 3.  Game recap is here.  We lived and died by the 3 with little chance at offensive boards, and shots didn't fall.

That person must not’ve watched the game.

Thanks everyone for the support; learning experience. Our victory was the first-ever SEC alumni-based win in the 5-year existence of this event.  Already hitting it hard on the 2019 team; solid coach locked in, and got meetings with new guys on our rough draft roster for next year. Expect a way bigger roster! See you next spring!

I didn't say they didn't. But the original roster had three guys in powell, jacorey and rot who in my opinion had no business on an Arkansas team. That's 3 of 10 which is close to my statement of a third

That's what I was meaning... the roster was short. These three were why. I don't mean any disrespect to you Kelley. I know it must have been hard work rounding all these guys up from all over the country/world. The way Powell especially talked about his time here at Arkansas publicly over Facebook in the past made me shocked to see his name and the other two I didn't expect either. Did rot simply not play due to injury?

Rotnei had a injury in June that required medical attention and had a slight setback. Him, Jacorey, Powell, and more were coming game 3 this weekend if we would've won. Think about how hard it is to round up several pro athletes in one spot, one day, for one or two games on television; let alone the location was several hours away from Ark. Anything can come up. We'll have way more guys next summer, I promise. If you'd watch the other early games, you'd notice the big stars don't play in the early games, because they think their team can manage wins without them and then join later on. Mike James for an example with HBC Sicklerville (2 seed, lost to 15 seed by 20 in Round 1 after us Saturday)
