didn't see the Pham move coming. There was more talk about them moving Jose Martinez which may still happen. Glad to see they DFA'd Cecil and Holland. Those two were aweful.

Not exactly sure how the money works in all this. Does this look like they are planning a big trade deadline move? or freeing up space for offseason free agent moves? Or worse case, stocking up the minors and planning to grow from within?

It seems like their offseason moves have been blowing up in their faces. The draft and minor league development seems to be the area they do well.

Hard to figure out our revolving door in the OF....seem to always be making room for playing time for someone else.  Underwhelming performance in the OF is something we can't seem to get past.

I would like to see the outfield of Ozuna, Bader and O’Neil with J. Martinez as the platoon as well as filling in at 1st occasionally. I am not disappointed with Pham being traded. Other than I wish it was Fowler.

Oh and still fire Mozeliak. He should have never let it get in this shape.

Seemed like yesterday the Cards future was going to be built around Pham, Grichuk, Piscotty and Diaz. All were too inconsistent though. I hope we try and build through our young prospects but would like to see at least a few major free agent signings over the Winter.

And the big guy that played 1b, Adams?. I agree.

I think they got a decent haul for Pham...he is 30 years old and had 1 good season. This season seemed more in line with the rest of his career. Two of the prospects sound like legit major-leaguers. The other is a lottery ticket.

Too bad Pham now has a broken foot and will miss some time.

Went 7-3 for the last 10. That’s as good as anyone right now. Just seems a little late. A lot of that has to do with Matt Carpenter. He is stroking right now.

Too little too late I’m afraid.

Cards are the hottest team over the last 10 in the NL. 8-2. Charging hard on Milwaukee’s Wild card spot.

Hopefully they can keep this rolling.  11-2 for the month of August, 5 games behind Chicago and 2 games behind Milwaukee.

Pretty amazing run.  Just grabbed the 2nd wildcard spot and won 7 series in a row.  When you're hot, you're hot!
