Mental Toughness
« on: January 18, 2018, 08:33:59 pm »

Just watched the girls BB game....getting beat by 15 points by  Florida   [ 8-10- 0-5 sec ]  at home......

They looked just like our men's BB and Football  teams.......

What is the common thread that these programs lack...........it seems to me that it is mental...losing begat losing.

The last good men's BB team was under Nolan.....Nolan would not put up with the players we have today..

The Football team under  BP or a Lou Holts would not put up with the players we have today ....is it talent? ...i don't think so.

The coaches must instill a mental toughness in the players that when thinks get tight in a game and they will....that is when players must be mental tough.....that is lacking in our teams .....

One can get beat when he fight to the end  & still feel good if he gave his all.....

That is the problem with our teams....we are expecting to get beat when things get tough.....the track & baseball teams go into a game believing they will win.....that foundation has been laid by a winning culture.

What say you!!!!
