Auburn backup point guard Davion Mitchell is leaving the program https://trib.al/AM6a1Mc

Quote
Auburn backup point guard Davion Mitchell is leaving the program.

"After doing my due diligence at Auburn, I have decided to further my academic interests and basketball goals elsewhere," Mitchell wrote in a message via Twitter on Thursday. "I want to thank coach Pearl and the Auburn family for the opportunity to play and embracing me and taking this young boy and shaping him into a young man. I want to thank coach Bruce Pearl and staff for their guidance and giving me the opportunity to make this decision. I wish the program nothing but success!!!! War Eagle."

Mitchell, who just completed his freshman season, averaged 3.7 points, 1.9 assists and 1.1 rebounds while playing 17.1 minutes per game off the bench last season. He developed into one of Auburn's better defenders but was ineffective running Auburn's offense as the primary point guard offensively.

"Davion is one of the most coachable players I've ever had," Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said in a statement. "He had a great freshman season at Auburn. We wish him well moving forward."

Mike Anderson announces Arkansas will lose two key players to transfer  #WPS https://sec.news/2JlR588

Quote
Arkansas men’s basketball team is losing forward Darious Hall and guard C.J. Jones to transfer, coach Mike Anderson announced in a statement Wednesday.

“Darious and C.J. have decided to transfer from our program,” Anderson said. “I appreciate them coming to the University of Arkansas and wish them the best moving forward.”

Sources have confirmed to SEC Country that Hall, a freshman, had recently stopped attending team functions. The same source indicated it is likely Hall heads to Memphis. The Tigers hired Penny Hardaway as their new coach last month. Hall previously played for Hardaway during his time on the AAU circuit in high school.

Arkansas has six 2018 signees set to join the program ahead of next season. With five scholarship seniors departing along with Hall and Jones, the Razorbacks project to have one open scholarship spot for next season.

Former Auburn point guard Davion Mitchell commits to Baylor

Quote
Mitchell was Auburn's backup point guard behind Jared Harper last season, and the freshman averaged 3.7 points, 1.9 assists and 1.1 rebounds per game in 17.1 minutes per contest off the bench.

Although Mitchell, who was a four-star recruit and the No. 59 player in the 2017 class coming out of high school, developed into one of Auburn's premier defenders last season, he struggled to effectively command Auburn's offense while playing point guard.

Talking to folks about Quade Green to La Salle rumor, I've been met with a lot of eye rolls. The possibility he leaves UK is real - although Calipari is trying to keep him - but if he goes, most agree his options will be better than La Salle, even with connections/location.

Report: Georgia F Isaac Kante to transfer out of program

Quote
Kante appeared in only 10 games as a freshman during the 2017-18 season, averaging just 1 point and 0.4 rebounds per game on the court. A 3-star recruit out of Putnam (Conn.) Academy, Kante was ranked the 82nd forward in the 2017 signing class. He chose the Bulldogs over Kansas State, St. Johns and DePaul, among others.

With new coach Tom Crean being hired, some moves were figured to happen
