Why the smart ass remark?  I didn't reply to you with any hostility.  Some of you people on here are so weird and take this stuff way too personally.  I'm not even going to respond to anything else you say, have a good day.

I would've probably offered. He made a big jump in his athleticism from his junior to senior year. That showed up in college with his ability to take guys to the basket. But like coach once said, college recruiting is an educated guess.

True.  That's why some of the NBA's best were 3 stars and below

Great fit for him.  Got out of the pass happy, low post stuff with Greg Marshall and goes to Spread it out attack ISO with Kruger.

Austin, you are going to have to become more confident and less defensive as you grow up to make it anywhere you end up.

Competition is something a real player thrives on. I am glad to see you step up to the plate. I root for nearly all Arkansas kids as long as we aren't playing against them.

And no, I wouldn't have traded the guys we had or currently have for you but it doesn't mean I don't think you were D1 talent either.

Good Luck

Houston, Memphis, SMU and WSU are pretty tough teams.  Remember what Houston did to us.   Big 12 might be tougher from top to bottom but WSU played some tough teams

I agree Okla will allow Reeves to shoot more in a more wide open style.  We will see if he can play good enough defense to play extended minutes there.

If OU is down again this year, does Kruger stick around for Reeves to get eligible?

Kruger is a good coach but he's getting up there, at 65.

He's been a college HC for 32 seasons at 6 different schools.  He's been at OU for 7 seasons which is exactly how long he was at UNLV before that.

I think you two are on the same page in that he will get the many shot attempts he left vacant since declaring.

Reaves had a strange season.  He had an outburst where he scored 20+ in three straight AAC games at the beginning of February, but his production steadily decreased afterwards.  He didn't do much down the stretch and made only 1 of his last 11 trey attempts after good consistency from the arc throughout the season.  Increasing unhappiness may have affected his play.

The AAC isn't close to the Big 12 in depth.  A mediocre Tulsa team went 12 - 6 in the AAC.  They had one good win at Kansas State, but otherwise rolled over against anybody else that was much better than .500 on the season.  They lost to Lamar at home and Illinois State twice.

Reaves can shoot and isn't a plodder by any means.  That will translate anywhere.

He was playing for a nutjob of a coach.  Kruger will let him play free without overthinking.  Will be a stud once he gets 100 % healthy.

2 - left Illinois for UNLV

7 jobs in his career. Averages 5 years per stay. He's past due to leave.

I don’t know what your deal is here, but if we’re plainly stating facts, Mike Anderson has had 3 jobs in that same 14 year span where Kruger started at UNLV and then moved to OU. Context is key with everything. He left Illinois to coach in the NBA. He left Kansas State and Florida because, at the time, they were not strong jobs. Same with UNLV. That isn’t all that great of a job. We’ll see if he leaves OU but I can see why he left each college job he’s had and it ain’t just ‘cus.

I always enjoyed watching WSU because of Reaves the past couple years. He wasn’t one of the home state guys that I rooted against bc as far as I know he didn’t spurn us, he just didn’t have an offer, I really like his game and still wish somehow he had ended up a hog. Now Oklahoma is more of an enemy to us than WSU is so I doubt I’ll be able to pull for him too much anymore lol

But he has legit talent. Decent athlete, good handles, size and a good shooter. He’s perfect for our system. Too bad it never worked out

He's not a Hog.  I understand a contingent wanted him because he's more relatable to you but the ship has sailed.   Wish him well just like I do any Arkansas kid that doesn't play for the Hogs.

It has been just cuz for the most part. He gets out just ahead of the posse. At UNLV he had just gone to the NCAA tournament 4 of the previous 5 seasons. That move was a head scratcher.

If you actually looked into his coaching career instead of just being a rude jerk, you would see that after two mediocre to poor seasons at a job he moves on. It's a recurring pattern.

So what's your deal?

I think you must have thrown your back out reaching. UNLV to OU is an upgrade. lllinois to NBA is an upgrade. Florida to Illinois, at the time, was an upgrade. We go back before that and we’re in the ‘90s and maybe he was just tired of coaching in the shadow of KU. KSU’s history is not rich. So, Manhattan, KS to Gainesville, FL is an upgrade. I don’t know how being able to see a coach that’s just upgrading and upgrading makes me a “rude jerk.” Like I said, shorter coaching career, but Anderson has also jumped around to better jobs. That’s coaching. We’ll see if he can upgrade from OU. Might be tough.

No, what makes you a jerk is personalizing this debate with, “what’s your problem”.

Differing opinions don’t bother me. Being rude in a personal way does. I shoildn’t have called you a jerk so I apologize for my bad behavior.

I said "I don't know what you're deal is here" because I don't see a clear case of someone who is a serial job-jumper. Maybe he is, but I was able to rationalize each coaching move for him. Now, if he leaves OU after this season (without getting fired) for a lateral job or a "lesser" job, then I'll give you credit for calling this out. I just don't think it is obvious and it seemed me like you were just looking to discredit Kruger. It wasn't a "you're wrong/I'm right" type of thing. I really just didn't know where you were coming from because it looked to me like he was just progressing to better jobs. The Kansas State to Florida move is the hardest to explain, because Florida was nothing at that point, but like I said, I chalked it up to maybe wanting to get out of the shadow of KU and getting some breathing room.
