**BIG COMMITMENT ALERT**

Jheremy Brown who works for Perfect Game tweeted this:

#Arkansas fans have to be happy with the way the 2020 class is shaping up. Land another big piece 2020 SS Michael Brooks; versatile & athletic defender, handles the barrel and pop continues to come along. #WPS. #51 per @PerfectGameUSA

The Hogs dip into South Florida and pick up another big time commitment for the 2020 class.  He makes basically our third top 50 INF for the 2020 class along with Cayden Wallace and Robert Moore.  He looks to be a potential big time hitter with developing power.

What makes this even better is that we went into an area we have not really had a presence in before except for a 2019 commit and a state with multiple elite programs and took one of the top players.  That is big time for Nate Thompson.  Brooks is the 12th commit for the class of 2020 and the 2020 class is currently ranked third on PG.  The two teams ahead of us are Vandy (always have the top class on PG before the draft) and Miami.  You have to wonder if we could catch them by capitalizing on the 2018 season.

We have less commits than them too.  2020 could end up as our best class ever

I think it could be too.

Based on PG points (which depend on your national rank), our top two classes in terms of points were 2017 and 2018.  Now, I'm not sure if that factors in transfers after players get on campus, but it shows that large classes help.  2017 was at 104 points and 2018 was 97.  Right now, we sit at 111 for 2020; however, we will probably have some draft casualties.  I think we will wind up with 20-22 commits like we typically have which means our point total will more than likely be 150+ pretty easily unless it is a bunch of lower ranked guys which I doubt it will be.

That also doesn't factor in players like Tink Hence or Jaxon Wiggins improving even more.  Hence is now a top 200 player, but has really blown up this summer.  One thing I have been impressed with Thompson about is that he has gotten in on some in-state players early and then they took off.  Players like Zack Morris who is now a LHP hitting 93 or Nick Griffin who is a top 25 player in the 2020 class were seen as reaches by Thompson when they committed, but now look like excellent gets.

No paper tigers ...

It all depends on who makes it to campus.

The answers to these questions might be somewhere in this thread, I just don't feel like searching for them.....1. which of the Hogs 2019 class went pro, 2. which players will be on the 2019 squad, and 3. who could make considerable impacts in 2019?

Article from WholeHogSports about the recent domination on the recruiting trail:

Also sounds like the potential for more big time commits based on the article.  Having Wes Johnson has been a huge asset as he is an excellent recruiter to add to Thompson.
