Cajun Boilers SUCKS, service and food. The nastiest toughest no flavored crawfish and over fried seafood I ever ate in my life. And that's saying a lot because I've probably eaten 2,000lbs of crawfish in my life.

There is a nice massagy place on Olive Street though  ;D

I lived in Tuscaloosa for 3 years, am an AR native, and thought it was a great place.  The fans are truly fanatical, and that may be why "visitors" dont get a warm feeling during game day atmosphere.

There is a Hampton Inn right off campus that I would recommend.

You will probably find the most economical way to go is to stay in Columbus, Mississippi

This.. Especially if MSU is on the road...

Go to Angel's across from bathhouse row for great Italian.

Come by our place tomorrow night for crappie and hushpuppies.

(not really; we're trying to keep the rif-raf out).

I will give you that Cajun Boilers isnt that great but its better than fishermans wharf, if you want good seafood go to the coast.

Now McClards vs Stubbys AYSM?  Stubbys is the worst BBQ I have had anywhere flavorless dried out crap.  I said McClards SPREAD, it is the best gut bomb I know of.

Do Jim and Nicks BBQ in Hoover  right next to the Marriot Courtyard.,  ask for the cheese biscuits,  Hotels are higher in Columbia MS than anywhere in AL.  Limited but they are pricey in MS

Blue Monkey Grill. Stubby smoked meats are awesome. Their sauce sux. McClardys sauce is much better. Mickey's Bbq is the best all around bbq.

Mickeys is great when they are open.  McClards is good but the spread is awesome.  Stubbys = Alpo

Yep, they relocated and the kitchen burned twice since then.  A drier rib less flavorful rib you will not find....

I'd gamble at the Southern Club and catch Dinah Shore or Abbot and Costello at the Vapors.   They're there about every weekend.

I actually saw the Platters at the Vapors club back in the mid-70s.  At least I saw 'em for a while.....placed served dranks, ya know.......

Agreed, that might be lengthy.  I'd wait it out though...

Depends up the travel plans of the OP.

Also, Dreamland has another location in Birmingham...

Don't waste your time at any of the Dreamland locations but the original. The others are franchises and no better than just average BBQ. The original is worth it but don't try to go on game day. You'll never get in.

And just a word of advice...don't go in there wearing your Hog attire. You'll get cold, congealed, tough ribs. I watched some UT fans decked out in that horrible orange get the nastiest ribs I've ever seen while ours were fantastic!  You are in Tuscaloosa...

Very good advice on not wearing Arkansas Gear in there. Was traveling for work and went into the original dreamland to eat.  One of the guys I was with was wearing a nice Auburn Polo and they would not serve him.  We thought the guy was kidding but he wasn't.   We ended up eating somewhere else.  Crazy if you ask me.  Money is money

This... There is one in Huntsville, AL that is just nasty. I figure they are banking on people in town on travel going there on name alone.

Used to go to Trintys across from the Arlington.  That place was rockin during race season.  Guys getting away from wife on the weekend while the wives were getting baths and massages.  Dancers would come in from all over to work during race season and then poof they were gone by the next Monday.

We weren't far from there when that picture was taken.  About halfway between Brady and Crystal; not far to the west of the big island.  She loved the tube; we couldn't get her off of it.

On Tuesdays, if Mrs. Duck is performing at the Big Chill, Mr. Duck gives out free lap dances after you buy him the second shot.   ;)
