It's worth going to but get out of the city except for the area around the bay.  Be sure to go through the market down there and to Starbuck's original store.  Other than that and maybe a ferry ride, get outside the city - beautiful scenery.  Inside the city it's too crowded and pretty much like any other big city.

If you have time, run across the boarder to Vancouver. Really cool place.

Man, Austin is awesome.
I know, I know.  Cannot believe I've never made it down there being a Hog fan for 51 years.  I've got a buddy who went to UT and even though he's an Arkansan he just raves about the city.
I lived there from '83 to '87.  I saw SRV 20+ times.  8)  Live music capital of the world.  I saw one football game while I was there.  1986, when Arkansas ended the twenty year drought of losing to those bastages down there.  Sweet. :razorback: ::hornsdown::

Put Mineapolis in there instead of Reno and that is mine right there. The new ballpark setup there is totally badass in the summer.

Seattle is great. I don't have experience with the rain, it was totally sunny for the two weeks I was there minus a few hours here and there. Man what a beautiful area.

Went to a Mariner's game. Loved it.

My buddy was at UT from '79 to '83, and he also talks about seeing SRV playing small clubs there before he hit it big.  Sounds like the two of you feel the same way about that place.

You have lived!
I damn near cried when I heard about the chopper crash.  The last time I saw SRV was at Memphis in May in '88 or '89.  He always put on a good show and  he always started off with "I'm In The Mood To Tear It Up" and then he proceeded to tear it up.

New Orleans will always be my favorite city in the U.S.  There's not another city like it.  I just got back from Jazz Fest.  My kids wanted to see the Foo Fighters.  They put on one of the best shows I've ever seen..  Highly recommended if ya'll get a chance to catch a concert.

Brisbane, Australia was actually a surprisingly fun little city. Won some money at the casino and then went and spent it at the nudey bar down the street.  It had all the essentials of a night of debauchery.

Have not and not really sure where those places are.  We took an Alaskan cruise last year and left out of Vancouver but got there a day early to look around.   Hit it during the Stanley Cup and that city was wild.  Became a Canuck fan on the spot.

Next year we'll allow a couple days in Vancouver and Anchorage to just mess around.  Rent a car and go where the spirit moves us to go.

Never made it further west or north than Anchorage but from the footage I've seen, Nome and Barrow would be great spots for jump starting a good case of hypothermia. :D

Sorry. Whistler\Blackcomb is the largest ski area in North America straight up the coast from Vancouver about two hours drive and a beautiful drive with mountains on one side and ocean on the other. The resort is the best there is for mountains. If you ski the skiing is fantastic. As they say "It's worth the drive".

And will be in need of some good BBQ. Any suggestions? I'm not looking so much for ribs as I am pulled pork. Love me some BBQ nachos!

I've also heard of this underground italian family-style place. Cant remember the name of it, anyone know what I'm talking about? Is it any good?

My second favorite is Oklahoma Joes.

I love Jack Stack. Haven't been to Oklahoma Joe's but everyone says it's great. Can't go wrong with Gates.

Just make sure you get the beans when you go to Jack Stack. They are unreal.

And if your going to KC, their/our claim to fame is brisket and ribs. I'd get some ribs and burnt ends if I were you.
