Posting on two topics gets more feedback.  Haven’t been to Fayetteville in 40 years and thought things might have changed.  Not too particular on what to eat.  Just looking for nice family meal.

Things have changed quite a bit. There's been a huge influx of chain restaurants in that time, from along 6th street where you're staying, to the area around the mall. Springdale still has its old classics of AQ and Neal's Cafe, but I haven't been to either in so long I couldn't speak to their quality. Bentonville is now the rising star for eateries, with a large influx of popular chains, along with a sizable selection of boutique restaurants ... most of which will make your wallet sweat. So you have lots of choices now, just not many old style family places like there used to be.

For anyone asking about family style eats that won't break the bank, my first suggestion is always Monte Ne Inn. Yes, it's still there. And yes, it's still a drive from Fayetteville. I can, however, attest to its quality and price value.

Forgot about Monte ne.....it's a great place for a family meal that won't break the bank.

All you care to eat fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, and white bean soup. They bring it out in bowls and you pass it around your table.  And it's pretty good to boot. If you get a chance to drive out there, it wouldn't be a bad choice.

Just be prepared for a nap after.

I will second all these selections.  Gone many times, always good.  Tacos 4 Life and Hammontrees are our daughters favorites.  Taste of Thai has the best Thai food I have ever had. Also, Briar Rose Bakery & Deli in Farmington is very good for breakfast/brunch. We like The Farmer's Table for breakfast/lunch. Market Place Grill in Springdale has good southern style food.  I like their chicken tenders and ice tea.

Back to the OP..... what kind of food do you like? There is a bunch of stuff pretty close to where you are staying.

Neal's Cafe

We'd forgotten all about Neal's until a couple months ago.  Had the fried chicken livers and could not come close to eating all the food that came with it.  Great pies, rolls and cornbread.  Just good old fashion comfort food.

Wrights BBQ is the real deal! Best BBQ I've ever had in Arkansas.

Seen lines out the door there quite a bit lately, and they just added a huge patio with a bar and live music on occasion.

It's almost like a stuffed fresh flour tortilla, but not --usually topped with a cabbage / carrot/ tomato sauce slaw - filled w cheese (can have pork, chicken, peppers, etc..)

It will make you want to run away with an El Salvadorian woman just to claim you are saving her from MS13

Oh...you mean a pupusa. The slaw type stuff you reference is called curtido. And the dough (masa) is the same as what is used in a tamale. You'd like the pupusas made at La Sirenita (the little mermaid, haha) in Springdale just off of Huntsville near Central Jr. High.

Yeah, but if I'm staying in Fayetteville, I'm probably not going to drive to Springdale for breakfast. My kids like Arsaga's but I don't particularly care for it.
