It's very nice.

If you are looking for a resort, well that is a stretch, but the facilities and grounds are well above what you would expect from a hotel that close to downtown, and the staff, restaurants and amenities are top notch.

I stay there regularly when I travel to Dallas for business.

Hey Jacksonville Hog fans, I have lived in Jax for 23 years.....As mentioned Sneakers at the beach. Any Buffalo Wild Wings location, if you are in the Fleming Island area Taps bar and grill has a lot of Tvs. There are about 4 Miller's Ale Houses (Mandarin, Orange Park, Regency and Tinseltown area) World of Beer and Tilted Kilt both are also in Tinseltown.

Let me know where you decide to go.

How about Houston area? I'll be moving down there around the first of the year. Hopefully we'll still have a game left to play at that point :)

My son plays in high school band and we are traveling to Owasso, Ok this Saturday for a band competition.  is there any good family friendly places to watch the hogs around Tulsa, OK?  Also my son will be in Dallas, TX on October 8th for another band competition.  Any recommendations for a good family friendly place to watch the hogs in Dallas.  Woo Pig

Lol, I'm in charge of a band contest this Saturday night. Wish it were an afternoon game. My wife will text, and I will sneak a peek at Watch ESPN when I can.

Any recommendations on where to watch the aTm game in Kansas City?
« Reply #17559 on: September 21, 2016, 05:03:50 pm »

I'm going to be at Kansas City this weekend, so I won't be able to watch the aTm game from my usual skybox at Farrell's.  Are there any bars in KC that are refuge bars for hog fans?

Just did a quick on Facebook, since that group seems to move around a lot - Gran Falloon at Country Club Plaza (Ward Parkway) appears to be the area watch party.

Watch parties in the City proper have moved from Johnny's downtown to Gran Faloon on the Plaza this year.

I believe there's also a watch party in OP every Saturday, if you're out that way.

Tickets outside Jerry World
« Reply #17564 on: September 22, 2016, 05:51:43 pm »

Soooo I've got some buddies here in Dallas (non-hog fans) and we have a guys weekend this weekend. None of them were willing to through down $250 for decent seats so I brought up the idea of hitting up some tailgates to hang out a cpl hours then hang out outside the stadium and trying to scalp some leftover tickets 10 min or so after kick off. I'll have it DVRd and will watch it full through when I get home. Anyone every used StubHub or seat geek after kick off or right before? Figured they'd be willing to throw down $50-75 or we'll just find a bar across from the stadium.

Fair warning you'll easily pay 30-50$ for parking. I usually go there to tailgate and I don't see very many tickets. I did see some on ticket master for 85 the other day so you may try that.

Park at J Gillian's in Arlington. $8 shuttle per person to the game. Easier to get away from traffic. We did this last year and will be doing it again this year.

If you use a shuttle, make sure you know EXACTLY where it will be after the game.  The place is a mad house.

A few years ago we tried to sell some tickets outside of Cowboys stadium less than face value.  A police officer came over to us and said there was an Arlington city ordinance that says you can't sell any tickets outside the stadium.  There was a registered ticket broker across the street at a gas station that could buy and sell, but the public could not.  So be careful if you try to do this.  My experience is about 4 years old so this could have changed.

Thankfully, there is not a Rangers game that night. I'm sure they coordinate those things, but I had to check. There is a lot I parked in for the OM/OSU Cotton Bowl a few years back. Was about a half mile North of the Jerry Dome, adjacent to Globe Life Stadium (Rangers). Was $40.00 then. Probably more now. Was an easy in and out if you pre-planned.

Always park in Lot 10, leave as soon as the game is over and never have any problems leaving. That is parking right by the gates to get out.

Interstate 30 updates?

Not sure if it's back open but Hope - Texarkana was one lane a month ago and took about an hour to get 30 miles. Anyone passing through that can update this hourly would be greatly appreciated

Arkansas, the orange barrel state. Other states close 2 miles and work on it. We close 15 miles with orange barrels and no one is there.

The IDriveArkansas app says that there's a minor slowdown just south of Hope, and a major slowdown between the Highway 108 exit just north of Texarkana and the I-49 interchange.  Doesn't look like it's a long stretch.

I-30 North bound is one lane from just before 108 exit and all the way to the Red River. Sometimes it moves at a pretty good clip. Sometimes not. Best to take 108 exit over to 67 and go that way to Fulton.

Try [CENSORED].com

You can pay in advance and reserve a spot. Looks like a lot about 0.6 mi away is $22 but they go up considerably closer to the stadium. I used them for the bowl game with K-State.

I travel that stretch of interstate quite a bit.  I exit in Hope and take 67 to 296.  Take a right on 296 to Four States Fair Pkwy.  Take a left on that and it will take you to I-30 by a Road Runner and Circle K.

It is definitely log jammed going both east and west.

Down to one lane both directions. I would advise exiting 30 in hope and taking 67 to Texarkana.

I don't know why the name is censored on here. Stubhub isn't. But it starts with park and ends with whiz. Figure it out.

So it's just $22.00 for the night? Nothing by the hour, just seems super cheap. And if you leave the then set as 1:00AM it doesn't charge you for the next day does it? Just want to make sure I do that correctly.

Take the advice from the others. I've been having to drive to Hope and back to and from Hope the last 2 weeks. If you drive that part of I30 in the early morning you go 60 in the one lane areas the whole way. At least. But afternoons, rush hour, coming from Texarkana, especially around the red River and Fulton exit, traffic gets pretty backed up. 18 wheelers log jam the traffic.
Driving from Hope to Texarkana leaving at 5:20 am I get to hope about 5:50. Driving home at 2 in the afternoon from Hope to Texarkana takes me from 30-33 minutes drive, which isn't bad.

My best advice is if you do want to stay on I30 and go that way, leave be in that area before the sun comes up and you'll make good time. Don't drive it during the day. If you do, take the alternate routes. Because one area in particular around the Fulton exit, when it goes to one lane, the traffic was down to 20 mph the other day.

Btw, the area of I30 east bound from Texarkana to hope around Fulton. It looks like it's ready to open. Freshly paved, I saw it finished being paved last week, trucks rolling it this week. It looks ready. If it is that section will be ready to go.

Ha! No shite JM. Have they ever finished the freeways from Little Rock to Conway and Little Rock to Cabot?

Good Lord, it's like down here, apparently they just point in a direction that has the least amount of construction already in progress, pour some asphalt down and throw up some brass lamps on each side.....then put a toll booth in every few miles and call it a 'win-win' for everyone - problem solved.

Not going this year, but in the past we have always parked at the Lincoln Square Mall at the corner of I-30 and Collins.  It costs 40 bucks to park, but you get $40 dollar of credit to the pubs located in the Mall, so if you want hang out before the game it's basically free.  They also run a shuttle to the stadium for I think $5 dollars a person, but it's only about a 15 minute walk otherwise.

Yep been doing that for the last year or so leaving, and about 6 months coming, the route mentioned above at the last Texarkana exit, takes you to Fulton or you can keep going on to Hope.

It honestly is a piece of cake if you're going from Hope to Texarkana at any time of day. I drive I30 from Hope to Texarkana leaving hope at 2 or 3 in the afternoon and go 70 most of the way. It takes 30-35 minutes. If you are going from Texarkana to hope be going through there on I30 before the sun comes up and you will make it in under 30 minutes.

Lord no. They don't ever really finish anything in central Arkansas. They have most of 440 shut down now, and they're getting ready to start about a 5 year overhaul of both the Broadway bridge and the I30 river bridge. Somehow they're planning to redo that crap pretty much from McCain all the way across the river but keep it open at the same time. Talk about a Charlie Foxtrot.
