No.  some dude laundered bunch of money by pouring into renovations on the building.  Then he and the wife split up and it never opened.

I knew there a story but hadn't heard the details.  Thanks.

Woodshed BBQ is pretty good.  But Pine Bluff isn't' exactly known for it's wide array of dining options.

Baton Rouge Smoking
« Reply #16910 on: March 18, 2016, 10:30:34 am »

https://twitter.com/theadvocatebr/status/710826275519143936

Quote
An ordinance that would ban smoking in Baton Rouge’s casinos and bars is finally headed to the East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council after a campaign launched in late January.

The Metro Council should vote on the ordinance in April, and it already has five of the seven votes it will need to pass from council members who are sponsoring it.

While smoking is already banned by Louisiana law in places of employment and public venues, the local proposal is designed to “close the gap that state law left,” said Stasha Rhodes, manager for the Smoke-Free Baton Rouge campaign. For example, while most universities and colleges already have prohibited smoking on campus, ones that haven’t in Baton Rouge would be included in the ban if it is passed.

The term “smoking” would encompass more than just cigarettes. Also prohibited under the law would be cigars, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, pipes, hookah, marijuana and any other lighted or heated product made from tobacco or plants that is meant to be inhaled, regardless of whether it’s natural or synthetic.

The ordinance would mean that Baton Rouge’s casinos would have to stop allowing people to smoke while they play —

It was a landmark, that's for sure.  One of the first salad bars I can remember that included boiled shrimp you could put on your salad.  I often filled up on that before my steak came.

True story:  One of my old college roommates at UCA was a North Little Rock guy who had worked in high school and college as a waiter at Sir Loin's.  We all knew he did well; he just had that type of personality and back then Sir Loin's was one of the few "high dollar" restaurants in the area so tips were very good.  He never told us how much he made, but when he graduated from college and began interviewing for marketing positions (his major) with good companies, he turned down the first 5-6 jobs because his salary wasn't going to be close to what he was making as a waiter at Sir Loin's.

Agreed  Sir Loin in had some of the best prime rib I have ever had and I have eaten a whole lot of prime. rib.  El Cortez in Vegas used to have bone in prime rib for 15.99 (but I had free tickets for losing so much) and Johnnys down in the Stock yards of Omaha were my favorites for a long time.

YES: The Grilled Cheeserie, Biscuit Love to open brick-and-mortar in Hillsboro Village http://tnne.ws/1Rm7sO4

Quote
One of Nashville’s most popular food trucks has landed a permanent home in Hillsboro Village.

The Grilled Cheeserie plans to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant this fall in the former Sunset Grill building at 2001 Belcourt Ave. after Nashville restaurant group Fresh Hospitality purchased the site last year for $2.7 million.

Also opening at the building is Biscuit Love, which similarly went from food truck to brick-and-mortar when it opened in a restaurant in the Gulch in early 2015. The biscuit house regularly has customers lined down the block.

In 2013, The Grilled Cheeserie was featured on the hit Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

It's the third location.  One behind Chipotle off Dickson, one in Rogers and now the one by Whole Foods.

It was time to go. Service was awful and food quality was way down. But in the 90's and even well into the 2000s, it was the spot and the food/service were great.

Although the original post was from January....
Thought I'd add a few that weren't mentioned...
Just a few suggestions....

Can't go wrong with Hugo's. But Smitty's Garage South of the NWA Mall makes a dang good burger, as does Angus Jack's in Springdale.
Italian-Mama Z's in Tontitown or Joe's Italian Grill on Wedington.
Real Chinese-China Cafe on Sunset in Springdale
Mexican-La Hacienda near the corner of Zion Rd & Crossover/Hwy 265
Fried Chicken-Monte Ne in Rogers
