Doe's Steakhouse on Dickson is great!!
Meiji http://meijinwa.com/ is my favorite Sushi spot
The Catfish Hole. Hushpuppies, Catfish and Chicken Strips

For breakfast, you must go to http://www.thefarmerstablecafe.com/ Little slow on the service but worth the wait!
I also like the brunch offerings at Emelia's Kitchen on Dickson St.

If you want to wander up North, Oven and Tap http://www.ovenandtap.com/ downtown Bentonville square
-or-
Tusk & Trotter http://www.tuskandtrotter.com/ Downtown Bentonville Square.

What type of food?

Our overall favorite though is Hugo's.

P.S. I will NEVER go back to Powerhouse Seafood either.

Hugo's is a good burger. Deluxe Burger on Dickson next to Chipotle is very good as well. Bielema frequents that place quite a bit.

We've heard that and never been. We've tried several game weekends and there is always over a hour wait so it must be good.

It is excellent food. The patio is awesome during the warmer months.

Thanks for the recommendation. We'll have to try it sometime. Especially since I'll never go back to Powerhouse. That location has been through a lot of different things over the years. I remember when it was one of the best bars in town called the Gazebo………………….

35 minute drive, but Bubba's BBQ in Eureka Springs can't be beat! (your wife would like "Local Flavor" in Eureka better though...  I'll admit it is really good, but not as simple, down and dirty as Bubba's)

Thanks. We are old and creatures of habit. We usually go to one of our old stomping grounds such as Hugo's , Herman's, Venetian Inn, etc. This year though we've made a concerted effort to try some new places. That's how we came about the Farmers Table. We also tried Hammondtree's Grilled Cheese this year and it was really good.

Trying to get waited on is a HUGE problem as well. I actually spoke to the Manager a few games ago. His attitude was You don't like it don't come here………..He didn't realize I've been in the Hospitalty business including Restaurants practically my whole adult life. He'd be glad I'm not a professional Restaurant critic after the way he spoke to us.

Hammontree's is always a good call. If you're sticking around til Sunday, Cafe Rue Orleans has great Sunday lunch food. For breakfast/Sunday brunch, Emelia's on Dickson is good as well.

As mentioned, the Catfish hole is a must.  If you want a place where you can chill and watch football I would recommend Foghorns.  The owner use to post on here (maybe he still does).  I recommend the Spice Garlic Parmesan wings.

If you want good breakfast go to Springdale.

Susan's
Sunset Café
Neil's
Wagon Wheel Café

All are a good breakfast for the money.

Pizza? Tim's or Guido's.

Mexican? Again head to Springdale. Try Las Palmas.

Steak? Does on Dickson.

Italian? Mama Z's in Tontitown or Mary Maestri's in Springdale (on 412 east)

Been to Susan's this year. We used to go there some when my Dad was still living. He really liked it. When we stayed in the Bentonville/Rogers area we've been a couple of times to Lucy's for breakfast. It was really good. I'm not sure if the one in Fayetteville is good or not or even run by the same people. Never been to it.

Go up to Tontitown and eat at Mama Z's. Get some of the onion rings while you're there. Some of the best in the state. As for them well done.

I had the meatball sub last time I was there and could not finish it.

Fried Goodness:
Catfish Hole
Sassy's
Frickin Chicken

Burgers:
Hugo's
Deluxe

Classier Side of Things:
Mermaids
Bordinos

Sports Bars:
Foghorns
Grubs

Sassy's is technically BBQ, but I put it where I did because the chicken fried steak is the best thing on the menu.

Yeah, Farrell's is pretty good too.  I would say it is more under the lounge/bar category than a true sports bar, but they definitely have good burgers, wings, and lots of TVs.

Briar's Rose is a must for breakfast. They have the best home made cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing and biscuits with chocolate gravy. Also, they have really good sandwiches if you go during lunch. You will not be disappointed.

When I lived in Fayettville I loved Mama Z's but last time I was in town I ate there and it just wasn't close to being as good.  Still way better than a lot of Italian places though.

Pizza- marleys deep dish on dickson

Fine dining- vetro is the best in town
Doe's is great for giant steaks
Hermans went down hill
Catfish hole is classic

Greenhouse grill and farmers table are both great seasonal locally sourced food

Rolling pin is best breakfast atmosphere

Meiji for sushi
The new chinese and ramen place on dickson where 36 club used to be is supposed to be really good.

Emelia's brunch on dickson is great

I heard locals 479 is amazing too
And good place to catch games

Thanks guys, I appreciate all of the input.  My father and I are taking my son (8 years old) to his first Razorback game this weekend.  We will have 3 generations calling the Hogs!

I'm always amazed when these lists do not include www.aqchickenhouse.com .  I know the locals say "it isn't what it used to be", but I've been going there off and on for 30 years and it's still very good IMO.  I don't always go - get up there less and less these days, so rotate - but I've never been disappointed.

Springdale or Fayetteville, I love 'em both!

Our son worked at the one in Fayetteville while in high school. Unless it's changed I'm not sure I'd try it again.
