Yes. It's ridiculous on the way, leaving, in athens, everywhere. Prepare to tailgate for a while after the game. Georgia people will be pissed off. We're thinking about tailgating with the Atlanta Alumni Association.

This is the invite I got on facebook. If you need more info let me know...

For those of you who purchased tickets to the Arkansas vs. Georgia game, we look forward to seeing you at the Razorback Tailgate Party in Athens. We will be set up at 8 a.m. Look for our tent and banner on Clark-Central High School's campus until well after the game since traffic is terrible leaving UGA's campus. This is a "bring your own picnic affair." We will have a security officer on site to watch cars during the game. Parking is $20. Go Hogs!

Headed out on 6:10 AM flight out of Memphis on Sat morning due to Fearless Friday High School Scoreboard Show.. Staying south of Atlanta with family... Absolutely cannot wait... Would like to meet up with some of you guys before game if you are tailgating -- My question is, if I land at 8:28 AM how long can I realistically expect it to take to get to Athens from ATL Airport?  ???

Hour and half-ish with no traffic. My wife frequently flies out of ATL and we live in Athens just barely a mile from the stadium, it takes right on an hour an a half to leave the airport and pull in our driveway.

ATL to Ath is about a straight as a shot as you can get - 85N out of the airport to 316, your problem is 316 will be a nightmare with regular gameday traffic. Count on three hours+

I would advise going 20 east to Conyers - it's my preferred route but my wife doesn't like it because it's not as easy as 85 to 316

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=ATL&daddr=33.77826,-83.77697+to:Athens,+GA&hl=en&geocode=FSdOAQIdgHz3-imtW3liOv30iDGm8XdfXO9-1Q%3BFVRqAwIdNqoB-ylhVpmNy8_1iDFUhNoSidJX3g%3BFdofBgIdoq8H-ym5M7S0GW32iDF8YZ3WAnJ0TQ&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=11&via=1&sll=33.80882,-83.853149&sspn=0.385108,0.716171&ie=UTF8&ll=33.743184,-84.101028&spn=0.385403,0.716171&t=h&z=11

2 and a half to 3 hours. Atlanta traffic won't be horrible that early, but once you hit 316 down to Athens you'll hit all the game traffic. Athens itself will be a giant mess. Of course, it all depends on how much you speed through Atlanta. The Speed limit signs on I-85 are more of a suggestion.

20 to 78 is a good suggestion. But you're right, not as easy to navigate.

FYI, that spot is a LONG way from the stadium.  Trying to think of an equivalent in Fayetteville...maybe like tailgating at the Walton Arts Center?

I'll be there with seven other family members.  Staying in our house here in Athens.

Didn't know there were so many Hogvillians living here in Athens!

Here's a quick question (and hopefully not a dumb one)...if you aren't a UA grad but die-hard Hog fan, can you go to the ATL alumni Assc. tailgate?

My wife and I are flying down from DC to ATL Friday and bunking with friends in Marietta. The seven of us are thinking we will strike out for Athens around 8 Saturday morning.

Georgia Hogvillians: Should we leave earlier? I'm thinking we should leave about 7. Our plan is to try to avoid as much congestion as possible and head to I-85 to U.S. 129 and snake our way down that route.

I don't honestly know 129 that well. But expect Athens to be a mess regardless of the time you leave Marietta.

im flying from JFK in new york city into memphis on thursday with my father. we are driving to forrest city to visit family and spending the first night there. then we are driving up to fayetteville on friday and staying at his friends house who got us tickets. hoping they are good. last time he got us tickets we were 20 rows back at the 50 yard line for the 2006 Tennessee game when game day was on campus. best college game i have ever been at bar none. hopefully this game goes similarly

But the game is in Athens...not Fayetteville.
