I stay at the Colonial in Prairie Grove. Very non-fancy, old (think 1950's motel-type with gravel driveways and window A/C's), and cramped rooms. But it's very clean, 15-20 minutes from RRS, there are always several rooms available (game days included), and $45 a night. I haven't stayed anywhere else....and won't.

Is the restaurant still open there?  Use to eat there all the time in college.  It was absolutely amazing!!

Less fun. If one stayed home for everything then they wouldn't have much fun whatsoever.

There are no truly dangerous areas in NWA. However, a good rule of thumb is to avoid east Springdale, east Rogers, south Fayetteville, and weddington west of i-49.

By avoid I simply mean if your car were going to be broken into over night, it would be more likely in these areas.

Wedington west of I49 has a bevy of nice hotels... Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Comfort Inn & Suites. I used to live over on that side of town. Just stay away from Betty Jo and you're more than safe over there...

There aren't any really bad areas to stay.  I second the opinion to avoid motels with exterior doors unless you need the cheapest place possible.

My one other piece of advice would be to avoid the Extended Stay south of Sunset in Springdale.  Not that it's dirty or unsafe, which it isn't, but it has the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on at any hotel, ever.

On game weekends I usually do Priceline and get a good deal in Springdale/Rogers.

I stayed there one time and those beds were like sleeping on the floor.

You get what you pay for as it is with all hotels.

If it has an outdoor corridor, it's pretty lame.

No real safety issues though.

Proliferation of hotels at Wedington Exit on 49 and a couple by Olive Garden in the north part of town kind of hide under the radar.

NO major franchise hotel company allows exterior corridor hotels anymore. That's why you see some change names that are. They lose the franchise when the license comes up for renewal and aren't allowed to stay in that system. I know of one deceased hotel owner in West Memphis Arkansas that tried to "enclose" the outside corridor of his Hampton Inn in hopes that Hilton would change it's mind on that and he spent a lot of money only to be told no.

Motel 6 on north side of town looks like a veritable dumpster and you'd probably catch an STD there is my guess.    I'd steer clear of it.........

Any body remember when it actually cost $6 to stay in a Motel 6?

And the prices at most hotels/motels were so stable that they didn't change for many years at a time (unless seasonal).

Why would a high roller like you be staying in Springdale? Are you sure it wasn't one of those HughFreeze Situations? If that was the case, it probably was her pimp that broke into your car since he knew you were 'busy'

Yes, Chancellor is very nice...just remodeled, valet service, good bar/restaurant downstairs. One block off the square - plenty to do within walking distance (eat, shopping, farmers market) 2 -3 Blocks from Dickson St.  - no need to drive intoxicated.

Nice....a good b&b is hard to beat. Being close to Dickson and the Square - I bet that is a blast. I figured ol' Rice would do something similar to this - not shacking up in Spdale at the HI getting his vehicle robbed, eating glazed donuts and drinking watered down coffee.

I bet you drive an old pickup too.....you are already staying in Spdale, might as well stay in Bentonville so you can pay homage to Sam (and not get your old truck broken into). I can see it now - Rice waking up early Saturday morning, driving the old farm truck to the original Walton's 5&10 and stopping off to buy a glazed donut before heading down 49 for the big game. What a weekend...makin' memories

I know the rooms fill up pretty quickly... but if you can get a room at Inn at Carnall Hall, do it. Great restaurant (Ella's), Great lounge area with drinks/ quick bites that stays open late. It has a large flat screen to catch games prior to heading to tailgate and to watch the night cap games when you get back. Your basically on the front lawn of Old Main so you can't beat the location. Just a nice casual stroll through campus to DWRRS.

I am biased as I had my wedding reception here. It's pricey, but the experience is worth it!

Brightwater has to make a killer glazed donut...I will let them know Rice is staying up that way so they can get their culinary students busy perfecting that highly acclaimed Benton County glaze, that is the secret you know....a donut is just a vessel to deliver the rich creamy, regionally famous glaze.

Tuscaloosa: AJ McCarron’s new sushi restaurant ‘Ajian’
« Reply #19641 on: August 09, 2017, 05:43:49 pm »

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Entering Ajian – AJ McCarron’s new fast-casual sushi restaurant – you’re not overwhelmed by memorabilia.

Quote
Marq Burnett: Décor is modern featuring a framed McCarron No. 10 Alabama jersey – which he wore while leading the Crimson Tide to back-to-back national championships in 2011 and 2012 – and a framed McCarron No. 5 Cincinnati Bengals jersey, which is where he’s spent the past three seasons backing up Andy.

There are no references to “Roll Tide.” Only “Maki Tide,” with maki being the Japanese word for sushi.

That’s by design.

“Our goal is to open multiple stores,” co-owner and general manager Pete Zimmer told SEC Country. “We certainly want to pay homage to McCarron, but at the same time, if I were to open one of these in Auburn, it couldn’t be Alabama-centric.”

Depends on where you are going afterward. I prefer Lot 4. There is good tailgating and then after the game I take Randol Mill road all the way to George Bush Tollway and then to Plano/Allen. It is really easy to get out traffic wise that way. I'm in 4 for the 4th year in a row

I parked in 10 in 2014 and 2015. we didn't have any trouble getting out. Funny thing, we were set up near the corner of lot 10 in 2015. I got there at daylight to get 3 flat pieces of ground. They won't let you in to park but you can go ahead and set up. The place finally got full and a woman with a man in tow was walking around with a p*ssed off look on her face. She went and got a parking attendant and brought him over to complain that they didn't have enough room to set up. there was a small area no one using and he told her they could set up there. They did but she was not happy about it.  What part about "first come first serve" do people not understand?

If you're a tailgater, sounds like you have some good info from others already in here, but if you're just wanting to park, there are some restaurants in the area that provide parking and shuttles to and from the JerryWorld events that might be worth checking out. And plenty of the non-JerryWorld businesses along Collins offer parking too, some much closer than some of the JerryWorld lots, don't know how they compare pricewise offhand though.
