Im sneaking in a big whisky flask and selling boilermakers in the stands

Not a bad idea.  Gonna need something to help stay warm.  I always said a boilermaker is good and good for you, just like screwdrivers, which are chock full of vitamins.

A buddy gave me one of those flasks.  I filled it with Bulleit bourbon & stowed it in my golf bag.  It turned my brown water green!

You take Beale St. out of the equation and you could move the Liberty Bowl to WMS and not skip a beat.

Yep, and we'd lose for sure.

Yep, and we'd lose for sure.

I think moving the Liberty Bowl to WMS would definitely provide positive economic impacts that would only build on the already affluent Little Rock breakfast buffet scene.

For Hotel:
Go east young man! Collierville, Germantown, even east Bartlett. Longer drive to the Liberty Bowl, but better/cleaner/safer options.

Food:
Steak: Capital Grille, Houstons, J Alexanders, Firebirds (Bartlett) then Ruth Chris` and Folks Folly.
Burgers: Hueys, Hueys, Hueys, Belly Achers (Midtown) and Red Robin
salads: who cares
Pie: sorry, the purple church is now closed

Ambience: Midtown is very damn cool! Good food options, some music, safer than Beale. Go east on Madison Ave just a couple of miles east of downtown, and you will be happy happy happy

Except the Liberty Bowl stadium is bigger and better. Also there are just as many fights on Beale as there are on the WM golf course……………………..

Memphis, Egypt latitude is 29.8447° N. That's south of Cairo. Memphis, Egypt is slightly is approximately the same latitude (though slightly NORTH) of Gainesville, FL.

Here you go, Racks! They have em at Dillard's.

Come to think of it, Dillard's could probably sponsor the new, WMS based Liberty Bowl.

I wonder if they have paid their vendor for those? I did a LOT of business with different large companies over the years and the one that was the slowest paying of their bills was Dillards.

Not sure about ANY neighborhood, but that can be said for all cities of more than 15,000. The good areas more than make up for bad. And both cities have enough tourist destinations to fill a weekend.

Yeah, no doubt, I know several neighborhoods in Memphis that I'd run on my rims before changing my tire, and I like and visit Memphis often.

Michael Carvell ‏@Carvell_AJC 1h1 hour ago

Alabama “much, much more focused” thanks to new curfew, lingering pain and “boring” Dallas http://sec.news/1QW2vjr

Quote
“There ain’t nothing to do here,” linebacker Tim Williams said. “It’s boring.”

Last December, Alabama was sleeping within walking distance of New Orleans’ Bourbon Street. The curfew was 1 a.m. on the first two nights.

This weekend, players were shuttered in at midnight, and are currently under an 11 o’clock curfew during game week. Their hotel is near a shopping center and not much else.

“New Orleans is a big party city,” linebacker Anfernee Jennings said. “Dallas is a country. Texas is big. There ain’t nothing to do. You’re just coming to play football.”

Players have been sticking to the “game room,” a large ballroom at their hotel that features arcade games, video games, pool and “little drone things,” among other distractions.

There are old-school options, too.

“I usually play dominoes ’til 10 o’clock,” linebacker Denzel Devall said. “Then I’m out.”

The new curfew and bleak, stormy surroundings leave the players with little but their will...

As I said earlier today as the sibling of the year voting is turning into a joke, some of you post like you've been stuck in a elevator with the iron sheik working out with the Persian clubs and took a few of them big clubs in the noggin.

Memphis and little rock are about as interchangeable as they get.  I'd like to see little rock get their act together and try to get a bowl game.

Any suggestions for a name and a corporate sponsor?

Welp, sending the daughter off to Allen, TX at 4:00am Thursday, then on to Memphis (possibly through Fayetteville, if you can believe that).  They are scheduled to get back in Allen at 3:00am Sunday morning, which they will undoubtedly be off-time.  Talk about a crappy trip!

I just can't get excited about a bowl game in Memphis.  Went to one in the early '80's and just about froze my anus shut.  Spending this one in Houston.
