The lots to the Northeast of the stadium seem to be the easiest to get to from the highway, and easiest to egress after the game. They will be the lots across the pond from the Texas Rangers stadium. It's about a 1/2 to 3/4 mile stroll to AT&T from these lots. Shuttles, and bicycle rickshaws may be available. Be prepared to pay about $40.00 for parking.

Yes.  Bought tickets in July before the "September to Forget".

pretty sure I paid like $20 to park off 180/Abrams Rd. south of the stadium on a grass lot 2 years ago. It was actually one of the lots operated by the stadium, about a half mile walk.

I always park at the convention center nearby and walk, just pay the parking fee for whatever event is going on there that day.  If you can get close to exit, its an easy out by interstate.

On a side note, Does this from ArkansasRazorkbacks.com seem correct?

"Arkansas is designated the home team and will occupy the South Sideline of the Stadium typically identified as the visitor side of the field.  Texas A&M is designated the visiting team and will occupy the North Sideline typically identified as the Dallas Cowboys (home) side of the stadium."

I thought all Arkansas tickets are on the North side of the stadium.

I bought my tickets from Razorbacks.com so I'm hoping they put me on the Arkansas side.  1st time to the stadium, so I don't know which is the north or the south side.

I hope the Hogs don't end up facing the west sun as they get into the red zone. the sun is a killer coming in the stadium around the early part of the game.

Already have tickets, hotels, tailgating and social plans for ATM game.  Is that a curse or blessing at this point?

Do I just go with tempered expectations and just enjoy.  Or do I let myself as usual let my excitement and adrenaline build to standing all game cheering and calling those hogs.

Might as well dive on in to the game and let her rip.  Heck the players and coaches can't run and hide, so nor am I.

Go hogs.

Just go to have a good time and root on the HOGS...WPS

The glorious Arkansas Razorbacks have never lost a football game, standing with a lifetime record of 1124-0, with a streak of 105 undisputed national championships.

Hogs never lose.  :P

What!? Is this the Twilight Zone?

It's nice, but not made for the college football type experience.

Again, I'm not saying don't enjoy it - but it is what it is - a big football "Walt Disney World".

Don't do it.  Juhrry's World is more like Disneyland than a college football experience.  Too much going on during the game inside the stadium, too big and just too Juhrry.

Not to mention we are going to get our arse handed to us in that amusement park.

How about just saying "I'm not going because I'd rather bitch".

Good grief.

last year atm was the home team and had the south sideline.    so we get the same treatment they did.   as far as  the fans, atm got the west end of the stadium last year and we got the east.      would imagine that will probably swap too.    wps.    bthota!

After looking at maps it sure looks like ArkansasRazorkbacks.com Southwest Classic Game Day Information Web Page got this bass akwards. Tickets sold through the University are located on the North Side of the stadium so it would seem that the team would be on the North Sidelines.

At least I hope so anyway.

I'll be there this weekend and just like you I've been trying not to get too discouraged at the entire event. I accepted we aren't going to win. That way I can go just to enjoy a nice weekend and Dallas and have fun. Maybe we will make a couple of good plays that will make it more exciting but I expect to be there more for the trip than expecting to watch us win.

Leaving in a couple of hours. I plan on enjoying myself no matter the outcome of the game. We have 12 in all in our group not counting my Texas family friends. Since I have A&M Grads in my family, it will be a mixture at the tailgate. Good food, good friends and family at an awesome stadium will make for a good weekend.

Been to Knoxville several times (was there in '98 too, still makes me sick), but I was never impressed with the place. Neyland is HUGE, but otherwise, it's not much to look at. Be sure to go over to Vol Walk and call the Hogs while UT is coming down the street. That always ticks em off pretty good. Anyway, you should have a good time, I've just always enjoyed some other SEC towns and stadiums more.

The thing bout Neyland is that its different. Its one big bowl. No upper decks built over a smaller bowl. The fans have always been great to us. They also have maybe the greatest hot dog in the nation. Its not inside the stadium but a vendor outside. I recommend his homemade chili sauce.

lived here 20 years. in the past i would tell you that you must eat at "ye olde steakhouse". its always been the place to eat in Knoxville. Todd Blackeledge's "taste of the town"has been there twice. unfortunately the last two times i have been i left dissapointed so i cant highly reccomend. aside from that Knoxville is a great place. Check out Market square downtown. its about a mile or so from Neyland with lots of cool stuff and lots of good eats.

Yes there is but it seems non traditional to me. Its not like an upper deck from inside, it just looks like one giant bowl to me. I see your point. Most stadiums are like ours and have an upper deck on each side.Well the big ten has some giant bowls as does California.

So true.  Had six tickets a few years ago but two couldn't make it at the last minute.  Four of us were still snug in those six seats. Also, unless you know a secret parking spot, be prepared to walk.

Making the trip to Knoxville -- Need some advice
« Reply #15548 on: September 30, 2015, 07:51:54 am »

My son and I are taking our yearly trip to see the Hogs play on the road.  We have never been to Knoxville and want to get the most out of our trip.  So I am looking for some advice from those of you that have been there................

Where is a good local place to eat near the stadium?

How is the parking situation?  Where is an easy place to park to get out and head west after the game ends?

Any specific sights we should check out around the stadium (Volunteer Hall of Fame or museum, Peyton Manning statue, etc.) before the game?

Glad you're making the trip! Some older threads merit checking, but here are the highlights.

1) Park free downtown at the garage on the corner of State and Union.
2) This puts you a couple of blocks ftom Market Square, where there are tons of restaurants.
3) Grab gelato at Coolato Gelato. Just do it.
4) It's probably going to rain. Ten minutes into the game, feel free to upgrade to seats in the dry. I expect attendance will be sparse.
