Golf Academies
« on: May 16, 2006, 03:25:37 pm »

Been thinking about going to one of those golf academies, Butch Harmon, David Ledbetter or Harvey Penick,  anybody ever been to one? and if you have what did you get out of it?  Was it worth the money?

I have attended the ESPN 3 club tour day schools three times now.  Each year I get a little better each time and learn more about the swing.   I reccomend this highly.  The tution also includes a driver, wedge, and a putter.   I traded in my wedge and putter on a trip to Golfsmith and used the proceed to pick up a GPS unit.   The instructors are top notched and have all been trained by Tiger's coach  Hank Haney.   My index has dropped two strokes each year from a 17 to an 11 starting this season.   I am pretty sure when it updates next month I will be close to a 9.
