Summer practice rules?
« on: April 13, 2018, 09:08:24 am »

The coaching staff apparently have given the players a list of things to do this summer, can the players communicate with the staff if they have questions? I am not sure of the rules that govern player and staff interaction during the summer months.
When does fall practice start?

Change in the rules, I believe the staff can do some classroom teaching, 2 hours/week??, and then the workouts/drills must be led by the players.

Coaches are allowed to get out onto the field and work with the players on a limited basis. I think it's three or four hours a summer but I'm not positive of the specifics.

thanks for the info Pig... seems logical since the basketball programs are allowed to do this.. and more and more football players are in school year-round.. not that long ago they were all helped to find summer jobs to supplement their scholarships.. with some unfortunate results sometimes :)

Yeah, they still pay some guys $20/hr to wash cars on the lot, but not many want to work with the stipends these days.
