The only thing he succeeded in doing was taking valuable reps away from Daulton Hyatt. He will never take a game a snap at Arkansas.

Not a knock on Aune but Hyatt is clearly #3. Played well his one series. Was very surprised they pulled him after just one. Thought they would leave him in at least for a second series to see what he could do after getting his feet wet and to get him reps.

how did Aune do this Spring?

I was impressed with him during warmups for the Spring game.  He was a 3-star TCU commit before the Yankees paid him $1M to play CF.  Nice addition to the roster.

I found this one very short comment about Aune in a summary of the spring game:

"Austin Aune and Carson Proctor both played as well. Neither quarterback stood out during their brief appearances."

No time with the "running clock" thing they had going in the second half. I was worried not all the QBs would get a chance to get in

I think he threw the prettiest pass I saw in the spring game.

His mechanics in warmups is what I noticed first.  Had to check the roster to find out who 17 was.  Then had to Google "Austen Aune".

He had not played football in 4-5 years.  He came a long way in knocking off the "rust."  If he improves over the summer as much as he did from January to April, he could be very valuable this August.

He could be good one but will have to knock off the rust.

Because you should always take one qb each class and then the second one would have likely been a preferred walk-on or even a blue shirt but due to politics, got a scholarship to make a certain somebody happy.
