  • Well, there were 2 backup LB's involved, and a WR, allegedly.

I believe the math is Morris has to free up three more slots for last year recruiting class so there you go.

  • How many Fulmer Cup points did we earn?  I suspect we moved a few spots.  I doubt we ever catch Auburn and/or Ole Miss.
  • #104 by ricepig on 11 Apr 2018
  • There was a day you would never know about something like this.

Is it a better day or worse?  I don't know.

The problem is the football team was told by Morris to quit going where you weren't invited, this isn't the first time some guys have shown up, uninvited. Fights have going on on college campuses forever, the problem is not doing as you were asked.

  • Shocked to hear KAs and Black Football Players got in a fight...  ???

  • #106 by steveaustin69 on 11 Apr 2018
  • Why even post it until he knows for certain?
He posted it thinking (assuming) that the players were involved...if you think otherwise, you are naive.

Why are you so worked up about this?
  • #107 by jkstock04 on 11 Apr 2018
  • One person was indeed hospitalized. Again, the video only captured the tip of the iceberg.
Ok...thatís a different story. If battery charges/hospitalization/lawsuits are involved I would say this isnít snowflake liberal media knee jerk stuff. Thatís a legit news story.

Name or names came out yet who is involved players wise?
  • #108 by steveaustin69 on 11 Apr 2018
  • Absolutely. Everyone has an opinion. I just happen to be of the mindset that, knowing how a few in the local ďmediaĒ operate, and their need to boost themselves and/or shows relevance, will take any opportunity to draw attention to themselves. Facts be darned.

Where were facts misconstrued? Are you connected to those involved in some way? Honestly bizarre stance you're taking to a video of an ALLEGED incident.
  • #109 by steveaustin69 on 11 Apr 2018
  • I have no problem with the video being posted. None. What the problem is, is that we don't know what made the videographer to pull his phone out and start recording. We also don't know what happened after he incident went elsewhere.

Pretty clearly a surveillance cam, dumbo.
  • #110 by SemperHawg on 11 Apr 2018
  • Meh, it was a fight.  If there is some kind of multiple offense thing with one of the players we don't know about then maybe coach Morris sends one packing.  Otherwise I would imagine Coach Tru can get this handled from a discipline standpoint.
  • #111 by Carl Lazlo on 11 Apr 2018
  • Its not a true college experience if you don't beat up a KA. Fun plus all the lasting memories for everyone involved.  Not sure I would have been into it if I was a D1 athlete in today's sissy climate.

  • Never thought Iíd see a football player kicked off the team for getting in a fight.

Well, when they beat someone so bad they end up in the hospital it takes on a new level of seriousness.

  • I still have no idea why certain people are mad at John Nabors for sharing a video of the incident. It's not like the video is edited or fake. Sounds like people already either don't like John or the media and are looking for a reason to bash them. Or, we have fans that would rather have a media and police department that covers up everything negative that happens with the athletic program. We see how well that works out at other programs.....

The only reason you don't want the video played is if you don't want facts out there.  You nailed it.

Those happened because admins and coaches looked the other way.

  • Much ado about nothing. If one football player injured six others, then start him at MLB. John Nabors should be fired for posting that crap.
If not for the video, then at least censure him for that horrendous intro for the 8:00 hour on The Morning Rush.

Have not listened to him on the show yet, but is it still the sexy beast line he used on The Forum? If so, then yes. Immediately. Producers need to tell him he's not 18 and that he's also not a "Rowdy Gentleman"...that's a clothing line for 16 year olds.
  • #123 by BigSexyHog on 11 Apr 2018
  • People like OleMiss or whatever his name is sounds like the biggest P in the world.  Never seen someone so butthurt over a video involving football players being released.  Don't see anything wrong with the video being released and if the football players did do something wrong I hope they get punished for it.  Same goes for the KA's.   It's stupid to get into fights especially if you have something to lose.

Yep... So true.  Not saving all the players are gonna be model citizens and perfect but things do happen.  It's how they are handled will be the difference

  • Well, when they beat someone so bad they end up in the hospital it takes on a new level of seriousness.
I would like to know what the injuries are... I've been in a couple that probably could have required going to the hospital and getting a stitch or two.  Hell me and some buddies got tied up with some Air Force dudes at a bar in Okinawa once and and I broke every two in my right foot minus the big one and didn't go to the hospital.

Point being if someone went to the hospital for a couple of stitches or a concussion then I don't deem it that serious.  If someone was beaten to the point of actually being hospitalized then we have a different case.

  • I believe the taller fro that comes in shortly after the overhand 12 o clock curve ball release is a WR.  Not going to speculate at names by that camera.

I thought that was Turbo from Beat Street 1 and 2!!

  • Well, when they beat someone so bad they end up in the hospital it takes on a new level of seriousness.

How bad was the person who went to the hospital hurt?
Could have been for anything from stitches or broken hand / to really serious injuries associated with a real beating.

    * Sorry I missed the post where you answered this question.

You would think that is some serious beating.

But you never really know. I knew a boy who died after a fight and he was punched one time. Died in his sleep from a brain bleed caused by that one punch to his temple area.
  • #136 by PorkRinds on 11 Apr 2018
  • Well in that case, the legal system will most likely be making the call before the coaching staff has to make any decisions.

Before they have to? Sure. But they can make the call now if they want. If a kid broke a team rule and they were warned ahead of time, they donít have to wait to see if he catches a charge.

Meh, from an optics standpoint if feels like the smart play is to wait and see what the police say before you do anything.  Give'em the old "we are evaluating the current situation"

Exactly. Proof that fashion always returns, even bad fashion.  Fights in frat houses, mullets return ... how long before bell bottoms come back in style?  Asking for a friend.

  • If it was FB players putting KA's in their place then they should commendations.  Doing a public service if you ask me.  25 years ago or so they had a rep of being a certain kind of way.  If they are anything like that now they probably deserved it.

  • If true you have to do something.   You can't have football players going around campus starting fights.  Just can't happen.  Now IF it's not true then so be it.  I am surprised at how many dumbasses that think it's cool and support players going out getting drunk and starting fights on campus.  What type of message is that?  Typical dumbass hog fans for sure.  Would be better to sit back and wait for more details.

You can still do this after the police release something.  Full transparency, when the Razorbacks have had a bad previous tenure with the coaching staff I tend to want to see the new staff do things the opposite way.  I'm not in any way saying I want Coach Morris letting kids off the hook for being knuckle heads or anything. I just really wasn't a fan of how when Coach B punished kids he was always so out front with it in the media, letting everyone know how he was doing the right thing.

I'm a fan of letting the coaches handle it behind closed doors, if that means dismissing someone and making a statement after then so be it, but the process should be none of our business.  Say what you want about Saban but I am a big fan of his approach to player punishment.
