This was a spring game. Although if it was Bama I don’t even think it would sell out either with wintry precipitation.

I’ve read this several times...funny spin. Absolutely nothing was wrong with the weather. 45 degrees? Pretty good football weather.

Uh it was around 32 or 33 and sleeting. I don't think that played a part in how we looked but it was little colder than that.

32 degrees huh? Interesting.

NWA yesterday afternoon was mid 40s. I wouldn’t have guessed it to be colder 3-4 hours south.

The front with all the wintery mix had already pushed through NWA and didn't get out of central till after 2ish.

Gotcha...that’s news to me. I was flipping back and forth between the game and The Masters so I must’ve missed seeing any precip. Low 30s is pretty chilly but I’m kind of old school and of the opinion that especially after the first couple of plays with contact and get that blood flowing, it doesn’t mess with you that badly.

It was a whole lot colder than mid 40s. We tailgated for four hours huddled around a gas grill. And yes, it is very common for cold fronts to push through all parts of the country.

I think the wind affected the game some too.

It was much warmer at the very end of the game as the sun finally tried to peek through. But it was low 30s with wind and freezing precipitation throughout the morning and deep into the game.

The weather was not that bad.  It had stopped raining/"sleeting" by game time.   It very lightly snowed for about 5 minutes around halftime.

We took my 5 yr old niece, stayed the entire time, and even she wasn't bothered.  She wanted to go play in the park after the game.

The most annoying thing was the bleachers were still wet, so unless you had plastic or a cushion... you had to stand the entire time if you didn't want a wet butt  (which would have made it miserable)

It was nowhere near as bad as some of the night games in Fayetteville, in November.  2015 Miss State at Arkansas comes to mind.

We carried towels in and dried the bleachers off so we could sit down. But we still stood most of the time just to keep moving and stay warm.  I ride s motorcycle pretty much year round and was well prepped to stay dry and warm. Thinking back you are correct that the precip stopped for the most part by game time. But that wind sure didn’t.

I think the coaches got what they wanted. Hopefully the team will improve s lot this fall.

Attendance absolutely played a role.  I drove in from STL the night before and was expecting mid-50s like the forecast had been saying.  Left my winter stuff at the house and badly needed it.  Had other friends drive in from out of state who dealt with the same.

It was mid-30s, sure, but with a bit of wet and a strong north wind blowing, it felt much colder.  The cold aluminum in WMS made it worse.  Now, it wasn't Alex Tejada kicking in the Liberty Bowl cold, but it was cold.  Half of our group that was supposed to meet there went to a warm bar to watch the game instead, so yeah, it affected the crowd.

As I said in the attendance thread last week, I do not see the interest in a practice at all. If the weather is nice I have better things to do outside, and when it is like it was Sat, and make no mistake it was miserable weather, I can stay wrapped up nice and warm in my house. It is too bad that the weather was lousy, but that is just part of planning outside events.

I left my house near Saline county about 11:15 - my deck was covered with sleet, wind chill was 17.
At the game, the wind chill was probably around 25, sleet was bouncing off our jackets. When I got up to get some water the blanket I was sitting on was wet when I got back (dumb I know).

Not a troll, but ya admittedly I’m not super fan enough to attend spring games in Little Rock. Has nothing to do with the weather. If I wanted to troll I could be that guy and pick fun at the attendance while watching from my living room.

Commenting on how (30s or 40s) temperatures effects play hardly makes me a troll. When football is played in Sept-the end of November, it’s chilly sometimes. Think about the conditions NFL players play in in middle of winter. I’ve seen some mentions of play being slowed down or hamstrung due to the weather conditions (I think that’s what the OP was talking about, not attendance)...I disagree with that assertion.

I can handle cold weather better in the winter months - as I've adjusted to day after day of cold weather.
A cold blast after as warm as it's been is just harder for me to take.

This is a NWA troll thread.
It was not a game with an opponent. It was a scripted scrimmage.
Unlike most fall games there were multiple statewide activities for competition.
Turkey hunting, Horse racing, Baseball ( by the way there were 3000 in attendance at
Baum for the Auburn game.) The Masters.
For you NWA snobs, do you think all of the fans attending games and filling the stadium in Fayetteville are only from NWA?
It is tiresome to read the negative comments about the rest of the state. I am a Razorback football fan but the attitude  of some NWA fans make me want to stay away from NWA. I just don't want to be around some of the people there.

At the game, the wind chill was probably around 25, sleet was bouncing off our jackets. When I got up to get some water the blanket I was sitting on was wet when I got back (dumb I know).
The weather was miserably cold.

The forecast on Friday was 41 and cloudy at kickoff, 44 and partly cloudy at 2:00, and 47 and partly cloudy at 3:00. By 5:00 am Saturday morning it had changed to mid-30’s and rain through 3:00, so I dressed as if I were skiing and am glad I did. That was one of the coldest games I’ve ever sat through. My toes and fingers were numb in spite of heavy wool socks and hand warmers in my gloves.

A television graphic near the end of the first half read 32.  That was about the time it was snowing. The thermometer in my car read 33 at 3:15. The Weather Channel website reported winds of 20-30 mph during the game. That is consistent with the giant US flag near the Galloway Exit on I-40, which was fully extended pointing due South.

It was 31 and sleeting when I pulled in for lunch on Rebsamen Park Road across from Faded Rose. Two friends who were meeting me at the game texted that they were watching from home.

The wind didn’t seem to affect the players, but conditions like those always affect kickers. Blake Johnson had two nice punts into the wind. Overall it was good experience for the players.

The crowd was probably closer to 10,000 than the 7,000 reported, which may have been based upon a gander taken at kickoff. Turnstiles were not operating. Quite a few arrived after kickoff. Television coverage of the crowd was deceptive because most fans were in east stands, which the camera never panned completely.

Well it most certainly didn't help in the least. Not saying what we would or wouldn't have seen even if it had been in the mid 70s and sunny. However, the weather was the worst I can recall in recent memory.

Maybe the reason why people in NWA act like such "snobs", is...

They hear time & time again about:
-  "how GREAT War Memorial Stadium is!!!"
-  "how Central and South Arkansas are the 'REAL' fans!!! The true lifeblood of Razorback Nation!!!"
-  " War Memorial Stadium is part of our tradition!!! It's part of our heritage!!!"

...and then, every game the Hogs have played in War Memorial in the last 5 years... the attendance is piss poor.

There are people who show up & tail gate on the golf course... but don't get off their asses & get inside the Stadium.

Then, there's the whole thing about the UofA sinking 100 Millions of Dollars, to update/renovate DWRRS.  While Arkansas State Legislature & the Governor actually pulls funds for WMS.

Oh, and... we can't have official visits for high school recruits, when the Hogs play in Little Rock.

The problem people in NWA have, with the people in Central & South Arkansas is... THE PEOPLE IN CENTRAL/SOUTH ARKANSAS ARE FULL OF SH**!!! The people in Central/South Arkansas bitch & moan about losing the Hogs games... but they never show up for the games they have now... and they certainly don't want to pay any taxes to- ya know -bring War Memorial Stadium into the 21st Century.

Either put up, or shut up.

You most certainly know that WMS is owned by the State not the City of Little Rock.
So of course state funds are used for it.
Just like Verizon arena is owned by Pulaski County - so county funds are used for it.
That's the way things work.

Man, you just throw everything in one blender, don't you? That's always...always a sure sign of complete ignorance.

That game was a complete mess and I doubt we win any SEC games this season.

The weather favored the hogs as usual.  Some things never change.

32 degrees huh? Interesting.

NWA yesterday afternoon was mid 40s. I wouldn’t have guessed it to be colder 3-4 hours south.

You could be chief meteorologist of Fox News or CNN with a post like this.
