I believe that the grass people and artificial turf people are actually the same people and much like razor blades and toothbrushes, they need to upgrade is cyclical. We'll put in grass and then in 10 years replace with the newest, greatest artificial turf ever invented.

We had grass then turf then grass then turf again and now considering grass again.

With all the new studies that are out....why not go back to the grass?

I don't think it was "back to grass' ...it was "I got a tat on my arse" -  but they are close

Speaking of turf on concrete, our local city baseball complex is finishing up putting turf on the infield on 10 little league size fields. The put down some 18" square plastic pieces with holes in them and then covered it with concrete. They then laid the turf on top of the concrete. I suspect little Johnny will get eat up by a hard grounder if he isn't paying attention.

I remember our local Little League All-Star team going to Monroe to play in some kind of tournament. They had Astroturf and fake dirt, I guess is how you would explain it. Our coaches told us to be extra sharp because the ball will not slow down as much on a grounder on that kind of turf as it will at home. Man where are they right, we got the hell beat out of us two games in a row and we're done. Of course my pitching had nothing to do with any of that.

Whatever players and coaches want and looks good I’m fine with.
