Your best autographed gear
« on: April 04, 2018, 03:11:57 pm »

Another thread recently talked about hog hats and who had one autographed.  It got me to thinking about the items I have collected through the years with autographs from players  from various teams.

My top 3
1. Football autographed by a good portion of the Dmac team
2. Lee Mayberry poster (New Sheriff in town)
3. Cardinals hat autographed by the entire pitching squad (obtained at spring training in Jupiter FL)

What about you?

1964 championship ball with Broyles's signature
I bought a regular ball but he messed up the signature, so they gave me a special ball as a replacement.

I won the Bobby Petrino autographed full sized helmet from the Sugar Bowl tailgating booth that Allstate gave away. The long odds of winning make it pretty cool.

I've got Calcagni and Eckwood signed tear away jerseys.  Both torn, but mostly intact.  I was somewhere around 9 or 10.  I wish I had something from DMAC for my son, but I just never was much into the autograph thing as an adult.  I do have a small basketball signed by Keith Jackson and Corliss Williamson from a charity golf tournament, which is kind of cool that they both signed the same ball, but that's nothing amazing.

I remember KJ giving me a hard time about having to sign a basketball.  I didn't have the heart to tell him that he wasn't a Razorback, and just said I couldn't find a football in time.  I guess being the HOF and all....it's pretty cool anyway.  I just remember how big his hands were....crazy.

My ticket stub from the 1991 Hogs v Rebels game, signed by Todd Day & Larry Johnson.  Larry Johnson signed it in Dallas at an autograph show after his rookie year.  He looked at, asked if I was there, then chuckled as he signed it.

Autographs from the MVP’s of Super Bowls I through XIX that I got at a press conference for them at SB XX. Starr, Dawson, Namath, Staubach, Bradshaw, Montana, Swann, Plunkett, etc. Spent a lot of time talking one on one to Bradshaw. Fun times, more exciting than the Bears blowout of the Patriots.

I dont really collect memoriabilia but my brother has a whole office full of great stuff.  However, my wife had a friend who was a cheerleader for the Texans.  She got stuff signed for friends from time to time so I have a football signed by Mario Williams.  I would rather have one signed by all the cheerleaders (I kid, I kid).

A poster with a lot of the 1994 NC basketball team players' autographs.

At an estate sale I bought a plaque that has a picture of Mickey Mantle and his signature on the picture.  It is definitely his autograph, and it looks like it is an actual sharpie signature, not stamped on.

I have a picture signed by Lou Brock and a picture signed by Brooks Robinson, which they signed in-person when I was at two different baseball card shows years ago.

Nevertheless, it's on the program. Hard to believe that was 44 years ago. Good lord I am aging fast. The year before, that ND team beat UCLA, led by Bill Walton, on same court I watched this Xavier game, to end UCLA's 88 game win streak. Was a very big deal back then.
