The all-time Associated Press Pollís Top 25
« on: June 13, 2018, 07:16:49 am »

Arkansas makes the list at #20.

The following is the all-time Top 25 of The Associated Press Poll, which takes all the of the points from every season-ending ranking and adds them up in a fashion similar to how each weekly poll is conducted.

Specifically, a first-place vote is worth 25 points, second 24 points, and all the way down to one point for No. 25, although the majority of years there were fewer than 25 teams listed.

From 1936 to 1961 the wire service ranked 20 teams. From 1962 to 1967 only 10. It went back to 20 from 1968 to 1988 before expanding to 25 teams in 1989. Consequently, the all-time poll is weighted a bit toward the most recent result.

So that's cool that the Hogs made the all-time top 25, which they should.
But what does it mean?
Oh, I'm surprised that OU is ahead of Bama. If Notre Dame could ever get the schtik together, they might move back to No. 1 again, like they were 20 years ago.

Anti-depressants can be wonderful things.

A lot better than Florida's from 1936-1990.

Well, to be fair, OU's championships are mostly real ones, compared to the seven or eight made-up ones that Bama claims. (and yes, I know that the Saban era championships are all real)

Hereís a list of national champions recognized by the NCAA since 1869:
