ESPN: Ranking the 10 toughest 3 game stretches for 2018
« on: June 07, 2018, 05:06:30 am »

Arkansas makes this ranking but in looking at their top 10 I would think that those teams with tough 3 game stretches that fall earlier in the season (beginning in Sept), might deserve to be ranked higher than those that occur later in the season. And then there has to be an evaluation of who they face in those 3 game stretches. In any case, here was what they said about our 3 game stretch and you can read about the others inside the link.

6. Arkansas

Sept. 22 at Auburn, Sept. 29 vs. Texas A&M, Oct. 6 vs. Alabama
Any stretch that includes both Alabama and Auburn in a span of three weeks is never for the faint of heart. Both the Crimson Tide and Tigers will again be loaded on defense this season, and with first-year coach Chad Morris taking on a major rebuilding job at Arkansas, finding a way to even get to 20 points against Alabama and Auburn will be a chore for the Hogs, who were 1-7 in the SEC last season. Sandwiched between the Auburn and Alabama games is a home date against No. 23 Texas A&M, which has won six in a row over Arkansas, with three of the past four being overtime games.

Fake news.

How does ESPN not know that the A&M game isn't a "home" game?

Yep. Not exactly a Freudian Slip, but Low knows the game is in Arlington and rotates as home on schedule. He probably just assumed wrong without checking.

As it currently stands, Hogs get a half-game advantage in even years and a half-game disadvantage in odd.

If Arkansas can win one of those and enter second half at 4-2, and they could, they have a four game winnable home stand ending with LSU after an open date. If the Hogs get to that game 7-2, or even 6-3, the tone around here will be different.
