Always better to see low expectations and then over achieve.  Who thought we would win 9 Nutt's first year after having a couple of bad years under Ford including losing to SMU.

The thing is we weren't getting blown out in every game although there was some clunkers.  Could have won 6 or 7 with better coaching/preparation.

It very much sets up like 1998, with help from an lighter than usual schedule.  I'm not claiming 9 games is a possibility but in reality most fans just want to see progress and would be happy with a 6-7 win season and winning 6 or 7 would exceed almost all national expectations.

So let the Orlando Sentinel, Athlons, Lindy's, and whoever else pick us last.

The only problem I have with the article is it referred to Bielema as "popular"

Athlon  rateing  us fair  it was Lindy's  who dissed us

I bet I could find 40 teams we could beat just on a talent gap alone.

If you watched the spring game, 91 is probably about right.

Which means you put too much stock in what you saw in that game. In making my prediction, I took into account that they'd only had 12 practices at that time and that there are many more left to go. I also took into consideration the fact that the defense played much better in the spring game than I expected them to.

The defense should always look better than the offense in the earlier stages. Pretty normal. This summer, fall camp and the first 3 games are going to tell the tale for the offense for this first season.

I agree. I also believe many are underestimating Cole Kelley.
